Pharmaceutical Chemistry
The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry started the postgraduate degree course M.Pharm (Pharmaceutical chemistry) in 2003 and since then the department to its credit has produced more than 50 postgraduates in the discipline.
To purport the academic and research work both at undergraduate and postgraduate level, the department has well established and equipped laboratories having state-of-the-art technology. The sophisticated instruments functional at the department include- FTIR Spectrophotometer, UV Spectrophotometer, HPLC Unit, Fluorometer, Flame Photometer, Conductivity Meter, pH Meters, Karl-Fischer Apparatus, Digital Melting Point Apparatus, Kjeldhal Apparatus, and Ultra-modern Electronic Balances. Other basic infrastructure in the laboratories consists of deep-freezers, hot air ovens, rotary evaporator, heating mantles, and hot plates to provide practical exposure to the students.
The department deals with various subjects- pharmaceutical analysis, inorganic pharmaceutical chemistry, physical chemistry, organic pharmaceutical chemistry, medicinal chemistry and biochemistry.
