Pharmacovigilance (PV) is defined as the science and activities relating to the detection, assessment, understanding and prevention of adverse effects or any other drug-related problem The aims of PV are to enhance patient care and patient safety in relation to the use of medicines; and to support public health programmes by providing reliable, balanced information for the effective assessment of the risk-benefit profile of medicines. The seminar is likely to describe some opportunities and challenges in ensuring that the community has access to safe and effective medications and explain the unique contributions of academia to the study of drug utilization, safety, and effectiveness.

Dr. Jai Prakash sir shared how IPC, Ghaziabad is focused on “ Quality standards of Drugs” and had a Q&A session with the delegates.Dr. Ravi Prakash Rao shared his views and familiarize the delegates about the industrial prospective on “Pharmacovigilance: safe use of Medicine” and had a Q&A session thereafter.
Institute of Good manufacturing Practices India sponsored this seminar, was interacted with the participants and brief them about other career prospective.Almost 275delegates registered (including early birds and on spot) for the event.A large no. of abstracts have been submitted by the participants in this seminar, out of those the scientific committee has selected six abstracts on the basis of the merit of the content which was presented orally by the authors.
Programme was concluded by the Vote of Thanks from Prof. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Director, Dr. KNMIPER.All the delegates appreciated the event. The seminar was informative for Pharmacy students, Academicians, People from Pharmaceutical Industry and Other Healthcare Providers.
